Adaptive skills through "The Little Prince" lessons
The so-called soft skills or soft skills are social skills, communication skills, personality, attitudes and professional attributes developed based on our way of being, social, emotional and situational intelligence. These skills help to relate in an environment, complemented by professional skills to achieve the objectives.
Until recently, skills were technology-oriented, bureaucratic inheritance, the employee as someone who provides a service to the company, repair (reactive and non-proactive action), fear of failure, one size fits all (all cut by the same employer), a workplace where people come and uniformity.
We must move towards people, relational and collaborative networks, employed as a partner, proactivity to prevent, psychological security with safe contexts without fear of failure, individualism as personal growth for the group, a workplace "for me" where people are feel comfortable, and encourage diversity.
Since childhood we develop adaptive skills but over time we leave innocence and childhood forgetting about the good things learned.
A good way to develop adaptive skills is to enhance the lessons from "The Little Prince":
- All adults have been children and we forget.
- Older people cannot understand things on their own, because they are unreasonable.
- We put our own limitations.
- How many times have we said to ourselves or to others "that cannot be done"?
- We don't do the things we are passionate about because what are other adults going to think of us?
- Children are happier because they don't care what they will say.
- The fox of the little prince is tamed, is to create habits and links, without links we are all equal.
- If you tame by creating habits, the bond of being unique is created for each of the parties.
- Taming is creating bonds, it is spending time together, it is caring for the other, it is caring for the other.
- When the process closes, if one says to meet at 4 in the afternoon, the other party will be happy from 3 in the afternoon to stay.
- You just have to ask each one what each one can give.
- Authority relies first of all on reason.
- Only a wise man can judge himself fairly and justly.
- The easiest thing is to hold the rest accountable by judging others.
- Only with the heart you can see well.
- The essential is invisible to the eyes.
- We judge by acts, events, behaviors only by what we see with the eyes without listening with the heart.
- Let's see with the heart and the child that we carry inside.
